Una galassia tosta...NGC 3359 in UMa

As I said in my previous post I chose the moon passed an object rather to verify the details on the active contribution of optics: NGC 3359 in UMA

Already the single shot I had to go just about 15 minutes, the signal of the galaxy in the RAW was comparable to that of the bottom, even the center of the galaxy, usually close to saturation in other subjects, it appeared on the 7700 ADU with the laying of 15 minutes. This speaks volumes about the difficulty

However, the long integration has revealed the presence of two side arms of the galaxy rather obvious in view of negative and noticeable in normal viewing. The processing is

been long and difficult, I started over several times to bring out details from the overall signal. The lack of color due to the haze poses that has made the show very low SNR GBR, I had to work the channels with PS to lower the noise.

This is the final result:

NGC 3359:

This is a zoom on the average galaxy

This is the vision to reverse the two outer spiral arms:

This is the luminance:

The photo has not been very successful in Internet, except for persons who have understood the difficulty level. I am a little disappointed but I also understand that it is normal to be so for a subject virtually unknown and photographed.
I enclose the link to the best non-professional photos in circulation of Adam Block created with a 20 "by New Mexico with a ST10:

sull'AO My considerations: from what I could understand if the contribution is seeing quite significant if you are driving above the 3 / 4 Hz Otherwise the results are comparable to those of a normal shot with a guide remarked, however, perfect and perfect otherwise you have here better results with the AO, the picture is less mixed. The AO also helps in windy conditions stabilizing shooting. If seeing is bad normal driving is much better, with the AO is in fact likely to have stretched the stars.

in short end of the day the money was well spent, still expect some experience to give the final approval to the purchase.

Next target, allowing time and seeing M51 in a taste last night in the fog, an LRGB of 20:10:10:10:

Greetings, Leo
